Meet Angie
Angie Gallo has been a passionate advocate for public education for nearly two decades. Her journey began when her oldest daughter entered kindergarten, and she quickly realized the importance of speaking up—not just for her own child, but for every student. That spark ignited a deep and lasting commitment to ensuring all children have access to the opportunities they need to succeed.
Today, Angie proudly serves as the elected School Board Member for District 1, where she champions equitable access to high-quality public education, advocates for educators and support staff, and works tirelessly to ensure schools remain safe, welcoming, and student-centered environments.
Before her election to the school board, Angie held leadership roles on numerous district and school-level committees, including the Superintendent Search Committee, Calendar Committee, and the Orange County Teacher of the Year Selection Committee. She has been an active leader in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at both the local and state level, served on School Advisory Committees (SAC), and is a proud graduate of the inaugural class of OCPS Leadership Orange.
Angie is also a trusted and respected advocate in Tallahassee, where she has worked alongside lawmakers to shape education policy that reflects the values and needs of Orange County families. She played a key role in the passage of the Recess Bill, which secured daily recess for elementary students, and the Baker Act reform bill, which protects student rights and promotes mental health awareness in schools. Her credibility with state leaders and deep understanding of local issues make her a powerful voice for public education across Florida. She currently serves as President of the Florida School Boards Association, representing the collective voice of school boards throughout the state.
Angie and her husband live in East Orange County. Their two daughters are proud graduates of East River High School and Florida State University, and their youngest is now an OCPS teacher—continuing the family’s dedication to children, education, and community service.
